Bryn Mawr Hospital publicly announces For Every Generation, a capital campaign to support the hospital’s $200M modernization project

Yesterday, Bryn Mawr Hospital (BMH) announced its capital campaign, supporting the largest investment and most significant facility improvement in the hospital’s 122 year history. The $30 million For Every Generation capital campaign will support this $200 million milestone modernization project.

“Bryn Mawr Hospital is the latest example within the Main Line Health system where we need to invest in the facilities to support the quality of the capabilities of the people inside,” said Main Line Health President and CEO Jack Lynch. “We take care of every generation today, from the youngest and smallest of patients to the most seasoned, and Bryn Mawr Hospital will be taking care of this community for generations going forward.

100 community leaders celebrated the public launch of the largest fundraising effort in hospital history, many of whom are early investors in the campaign. To this point, $20 million has been raised, including gifts and pledges from the Main Line community and beyond. Of that total, more than $8.6 million has been raised by board leadership alone, including 100 percent of the active Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation Board, members of the Main Line Health Board of Governors, as well as honorary and ex officio Foundation Trustees.

The modernization project will include a five-story, 203,000 square foot Patient Pavilion, comprised of 12 operating rooms in a state-of-the-art surgical suite, and 72 replacement patient rooms (54 medical/surgical beds and 18 intensive care beds). This building will be erected in the center of the campus. Additionally, renovations include a complete redesign of the Warden Lobby (the main hospital entrance) and outpatient services department, as well as refurbished maternity facilities.

“We are modernizing Bryn Mawr Hospital and ensuring that it is prepared to care for generations of families to come,” said Bryn Mawr Hospital President Andi Gilbert. “In 2018 we will have the facilities to match the excellent care for which we are so well known.”

Groundbreaking for the new patient pavilion and hospital renovations will begin the summer of 2016 and the project is slated for completion by the end of 2018. During the entire construction process, Bryn Mawr Hospital will ensure continued excellence in patient care with limited inconvenience to patients, employees and the community.
